For any of you Mamas out there trying to hold down some big kids in your nest, Frances feels you.

The Chicks are busy kiddos today, and are gaining some more space to move around as Frances remodels the nest and gets things ready for Launch. What was once a cozy cup is now being transformed into a saucer. Frances has been zipping around the nest while dodging hungry mouths as she works.

She’s pulling stuffing out of the nest. She’s breaking that sucker down and giving the Chicks more room to sit on top rather than inside. When I sit and watch her work, she reminds me of the many Mamas I know out there who’ve been planning to prepare for graduation - plans that have now changed because we can’t celebrate. We can’t pomp. We can’t circumstance.

Well, there’s no big party planned for these graduates, either. The only thing on her mind is preparing them to survive on their own.

Let’s hope Mama’s got a vacation planned for when her current duties are done and she’s got more time for herself.

Day 19 means more test flaps for the Chicks.
